I was TICKLED to see these baby robins up close and personal, AND have my camera with me.
These photos were taken Tuesday, when my mom and I were visiting with my grandpa. When these birds were brought to my attention, I quickly excused myself and ran out to the parking lot and got my camera. (I had a feeling earlier that day that God was going to provide me with something that evening, useful for my blog. How cool!)
I was amazed at how strong the babies were in reaching up for food, yet so weak quickly thereafter. Their necks looked like they were made of rubber. They had little bursts of strength. After an energetic reach for food (that wasn’t there), they could hardly keep their heads up. They would suddenly fall asleep, and then, just as quickly, awake and chirp for food. I LOVE the photo where one of the babies is falling asleep with its mouth open.
